There are many spiritual ideas that rest on the premise that we will be rescued. Something will happen and it will change everything. We will be swept up in a force, a moment of evolution that will take us all to another level. These ideas compete with one another. What is the most attractive and hopeful version of rescue? What version allows us to do the least and gain the most?

Manifesting what you want is often portrayed as a magic trick, a correct snap of the fingers, a visualization.

The most generous assessment of these methods is that they are metaphors, substitutions for the real thing.

Why do I say that?

Its about doing what you truly want to doin which case, the reward is secondary to the doing.

Thats a hard pill for some people to swallow. They prefer to live life doing something they dont want to doand then, from that position, discovering a trick whereby theyll achieve a sudden reward.

Rescue.

Living a life creating what you truly want isnt a walk in the park. There are dark days, there are times of struggle, there are moments when the whole enterprise seems to founder on the rocks.

But if you dont give up and give in, you still have the essential magic in your hands…
