The Yoga Wall, designed by B.K.S. Iyengar, is a tool that has mainly been used to help yogis find better alignment and deeper postures.

Using the ropes, handles, and pelvic inversion sling, practitioners can pull and traction themselves into deeper twists, forward bends, backward bends, hip and hamstring openings, and arm and shoulder stretches. It can also be helpful in finding help in balancing postures and inversions.

The wall, in it’s purest form, allows practitioners to stabilize in order to advance the reach away from the stability. For instance, using the ropes around the pelvis will stabilize the hips so that the spine can find a deeper length in Downward Dog, Pyramid, Triangle, and the like. It can also provide stability to allow for deeper spinal twists Spice Up Your Practice With the Yoga Wall
