(As multi-dimensional beings, you and I are literally a field of interpenetrating vibrations. Our vibrations track through from physical manifestation back into higher nonphysical, or spiritual essence. That essence has its own source as light and sound. Not the light and sound we see in the third dimension. Far beyond that as the intrepid spiritual explorers amongst us all know.

The principle therefore of any form of structured sound when used in spiritual practice is this. Sound, as vibration is a series of tones, born out of a combination of the sacred letters from a sacred alphabet. One such sacred alphabet is Sanskrit. These combinations, when understood in spiritual practice birth what are known as hymns, mantras or even worship songs known as bhajans.

Hanuman is the Monkey God famed for his exploits in the Hindu epic “The Ramayana”.  Chalisa (चालीसा) means a prayer of forty verses. Such verses are in themselves devotional. They are recited over and over again or chanted by groups. The acts and deeds of deities are recalled in these verses to aid the devotee to meditate on righteous and noble qualities. Think of yourself as bathing in a vibrational soup of pure light as you listen to the Hanuman Chalisa. Enjoy. Nigel)

We all need help maintaining our personal spiritual practice. We hope that these Daily Meditations, prayers and mindful awareness exercises can be part of bringing spirituality alive in your life. Today’s meditation features a recording of the Hanuman Chalisa, a Hindu devotional hymn, by singer and composer Shekhar Ravjiani.
