Gnostic Origins Of Christianity

A healthy life includes a healthy, discerning disposition towards all beliefs. Society, with all of its challenges is ultimately a complex self organising mechanism through which people collectively find ways to co-exist. Hopefully, in an idealistic sense, they are practising the very highest of human virtues, encouraging each other to excel in the self realisation and seeking to in no way impinge upon anothers chosen path. Historically though, regardless of official history, the truth of our collective actions tells us another story. Religion is one belief system functioning inside this organizing mechanism. However religion, no matter which one or which version of that particular one, is only a series of beliefs fostered upon a group consciousness by those with the power to so do. We do not have to idly sit by and accept as absolute any teaching. test, discern and control the wayfaring imagination that leads one into self delusion.
Having said the above, here is a classic portrayal of another side of Christianity’s historical past. In offering this it is in no way my intent to ask you to drop any allegiances to any belief system, but rather deepen your relationship through a richer understanding and a fuller consideration of the previously presented version of truth.
