The “Eyes” Have It

Sri Sivananda is  one of the great teachers of consciousness. There is so much you can read about his life and gifts given to humanity, but today I just want to pick one quote from him on the topic of thought. Read it and think about what he says:

“Your Eyes Betray Your Thoughts:

The eyes, which represent the windows of the soul, bespeak of the condition and state of the mind. There is a telegraphic instrument in the eyes to transmit the messages, or thoughts, of treachery, depression, gloom, hatred, cheerfulness, peace, harmony, health, power, strength and beauty.

If you had the faculty to read the eyes of others, you could read the mind at once. You could read the uppermost thought or dominant thought of a person, if you were careful to mark the signs in their face, conversation and behaviour. It needs a little pluck, acumen, training, intelligence and experience.”

The Real Challenge:

Mastery of this art requires first that your own eyes communicate the deepest qualities you aspire to yourself. When your eyes project a deep inner truth of peace, love, acceptance, joy and harmony, that is because you are entertaining those thoughts yourself, regularly and repetitively. People come to recognize the light you shine, the song you sing, the signature of your soul.

How to master this is the first step in this art, and having a good reason for doing this – other than it could make a fun party trick – is essential.

The Reason:

You know when someone is being dishonest with you. You know when someone is hurting. You also know when the signals of life are trying to move you into a new and deeper reality. All of this knowing comes, first and foremost, from applying the deep principles of The Power Before Thought. The messages in this book are timeless. I did not invent them. I simply stated them as I have found them to apply in my life and the lives of those with whom I share.

I have found, over many years now, that the greatest success in the field of Personal Development and Self Help comes not from attending infinite programmes, reading countless books, and buying courses by the dozen. It comes instead from one key thing: Honesty. The honesty to see everything in life for what it is and choose to engage life with this honesty. To approach everything that comes to you through the lens of knowing that your thoughts are, in the end and above all else, the creator of the universe you live in.

Everything else, and I do mean everything else – every discipline you encounter – simply acts to help you play with thoughts, maybe master them, or even create magic with them. However, in the end, life is the result of your thoughts.

Go Back And Master This Art!

When you finish this message, and as soon as time permits, I highly suggest you avail yourself of Chapter 13 in The Power Before Thought. When you read this section, think about its implications in your life. Please also remember this. Many people tend to spend a significant portion of their lives in search of a Master, Guru or leader. There are significant benefits that CAN come from such a pursuit. However, a truly great master is one who opens the door to the greatest master of all: The one that lives and breathes in your heart. A truly great master simply reflects back to you what you need to know of yourself so as to be all you came here to be.
